Re: """"bad""""" games you actually like

Sonic CD and Chaotix are two of the best classic Sonic games, if not the best classic Sonic games period. They are both excellent tests of skill for people more familiar with classic Sonic gameplay and they both bring lots of unique ideas to the table in every department. I'm convinced that most ...

Re: gaming on Linux

A Series S for most games (mouse&keyboard for first person games), and a Haute leverless for fighting games, because I can't play those with a stick to save my life.

Re: gaming on Linux

A few months ago we updated my partner's PC, and I decided to turn the old one into a living room games PC. We have Steam Link set up (just using the app on our Android TV), but between the input delay, propensity to crash Steam and having controller issues when the streaming PC's Steam runs under ...

Re: """"bad""""" games you actually like

Daikatana is much improved when you disable your "friends" so they stop getting stuck on terrain, killing you with explosive weapons or dying.

Well, and once you get out of Episode 1, that game really puts its worst foot forward.

Hi there! I've been competing in FGC Events for the last couple years, I usually go to Frosty Faustings, Combo Breaker and Midwest Mixfest. My main games are Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising & Tekken 8 but I love to dabble in pretty much everything. (I also got 4th place and got to be on stream at ...

Re: games u feel no one remembers.... 🖳

Some love for old Titus platformers. I loved both Prehistorik games, but probably spent the most time playing Titus the Fox, just because it's so dang hard .

The first Prehistorik game is fairly simplistic, you just move left to right and need to collect enough food by the end of the level to ...

Oh, both Hexen games are great. They have their issues*, but I think they're vastly better than Heretic (which I always found dull).
I've never played Heretic 2, but it does look dope.

Re: games u feel no one remembers.... 🖳

I was just reminded of Noctis, the original No Man's Sky from ~2001. There is a huge generated galaxy of stars and planets, and you can send your weird ship to land on any of them, and even exit to do a walkabout. Even navigation is weird, you're interacting with your ship's own interface, rather ...

Boy howdy I'd love to talk about how bullshit Blood's hitscanners are. You round a corner and they immediately lock on and begin gunning you down. Trying to hit them around a corner with dynamite kind of helps but sometimes you're just that low on dynamite and need to save it for bigger crowds of ...

The two Crusader games have banger soundtracks. ratatatatatata

Here's one that's cheating a little bit, but! The original System Shock had a very eclectic soundtrack, between its General MIDI abstractness and weird, techno electronica bops, it creates a pretty unique soundscape.

Anyway, sometime ...

Which is another Tim Follins OST! You can really tell he cut his teeth on Amiga's tracker, all his tracks are these layered compositions that build on themselves, and they usually change several times through the song.

This is the fighting game thread, everyone here has faves that they know intellectually aren't perfect, but still love them regardless. For all my objections about MK's animations, it's still a joy to watch top rank players duke it out! :yingblep:
