Re: What was the last movie you watched?
Kung Fu is SO FUCKING cool.
If im allowed to talk House some more, I love how that film pairs this overly sentimental vibe with its increasing wildness. Great ass film.
It’s achingly sincere!!! It’s fun but has a profound bitterness simmering just under the surface at the horror of war and ...

What made it even better is that it included a Remix mode where you could create your own custom tracks by placing down samples down, adjust the tempo, and add reverb/stutter, and then you could play back your own levels and upload/download them from the online servers that existed at the time ...

Re: Castlevania (entire series)
While I adore the metroidvania Castlevanias, we're so spoiled for choice and I really miss Classicvanias. Bloodlines for the Mega Drive/Genesis is still my favorite and I like the handling of the classics, where the movement is more deliberate and committal.
I do think I'm in the minority though ...

I’ll be honest gang, I’m never *not* going to be posting about rhythm games at this point. I’ve been playing pop’n nonstop and do not plan to quit until I can clear a 50, wish me luck if you understand how absurd of an idea that is

I’ve never watched sumo, but I deeply respect grappling sports in general! I know a tiny bit of BJJ even though this body is built more for striking sports, haha. What is the best way to get into watching Sumo? Any good sites to keep up with it or major events to jump on for?

I watched High Fidelity a couple of days ago and am still upset at how goddamn bad it was. Do not recommend unless you want to watch the worst kind of gatekeeping music snob act violently misogynistic by treating relationships with women like conquests and never actually learning why he’s a ...

I’ll throw down a recommendation! Matana Roberts’ work is absolutely phenomenal, if a bit dense; Coin Coin Chapter 4 was my favorite jazz album of 2019 and I really do recommend giving it a listen. The spoken word sections are a bit sparse but very possibly right up your alley:

Ooooh, this is a fun thread idea! I’ll pitch in a weird pull; I personally find Aivi and Surasshu’s cover of K.K. Cruisin’ to be the most thoughtful, textured, and downright interesting rendition of the song:

City: The Animation is so good so far!!
I'll confess that I'm in no way familiar with Nichijou, so I had no idea what to expect going in. The madcap energy, the characters, and the visual style have all been so captivating and delightful, every episode is just a joy to watch.

Oh gosh, I’ve been loving Mario Kart World! That being said, this is the first Mario Kart (and kart racer, for that matter) I’ve ever really gotten into. I completely missed the boat on 8 and before that only dabbled at friends’ houses growing up in the N64/GCN era.
