Wowie-zowie we passed 300 members!!!

(By the time I wanted to post this, we got like 10 more people! whatdidijustread )

First off, thank you all so much for joining and wanting to be a part of the Critter Time forums. This exploded a bit more than we expected, as there's 20 times more members before the first week is even up than what we expected in a month. It's madness. We're trying our best to be on top of things, so here's some useful threads for you:

The Forum Rules - Make sure you've read these! They're important so that we're all on the same page here.

Updates and Fixes - Stay up to date when it comes to changes to the forum's structure, rules, and technical capabilities.

Suggestions and Issues - Tell us of any problems or proposals you have. Please keep in mind that we won't accept all of them and it's nothing personal. Some things we can't do, some things we won't do, some things we want to do but can't right now.

Introduce Yourselves! - This is not a thread, but you can make one in this subforum if you would like to introduce yourselves properly. You don't have to! It's not a requirement, we just like saying hello to cool new people (it's you, you're the cool new person/critter/system).

Also, some things we wanted to cover now that we have your attention.

CAPTCHA more like CRAPTCHA amirite gang? - The CAPTCHA for registration has been giving new people a lot of grief so we've replaced it with a simple question and answer authentication instead. We hope this makes is it even easier for people to join and we're sorry if you were affected by the initial problems. dramaqueen

Aesthetic VS Usability - This one gets brought up a lot and it primarily deals with how much aesthetic are we willing to push on forum visuals VS how user-friendly it should be. To tell you the truth, we could have made just a regular forum, but we didn't set off to do that. We wanted the forums to feel old as much as we reasonably could. (Fun fact, the 1996 theme was the first one chosen and the general vibe we wanted but that was a bit too much so we went with the less intense 1982 theme.) We've gotten some feedback that the "Readable" version of 1982 should be the default. We understand that this is frustrating for some folks, but we kindly ask you to switch the theme to the one of your liking if the default bothers you. We want to be very clear to everyone what they're signing up for with the first impression. That said, we will try to make the experience as pleasant as we can, to a limit. We're really sorry if you disagree with our approach and reasoning, but also ask you to understand that this has grown much faster and larger than anticipated and we don't want to compromise the intended vibes of the forum to quickly please more people.

Keep Having Fun - There's been a lot of threads, a lot of discussions. Please feel free to gush about your hyper-fixations and interests. You've all been very swell. superfab
