Anyone Wanna Trade Album Recommends? Any genre!
I listen to a shwackload of various music genres/styles, and am always happy to hear new sounds. Metal is definitely my main genre, but edm and jazz are also up there. Been recently getting into some more rap/hip hop, at this point generally as long as it's not top 40 I'll likely vibe with it. Doesn't even have to be in a language I understand lmao
I'll start off with my top 5 favourite albums for people to check out
1. "The Conspiracy" by Raven Age (Lighter groove metal, genuinely listen to it almost daily)
(it won't let me
share the bandcamp link anymore)
2. "Moonsplitter" by Stones of Duna (Probably one of the best written albums I've listened to)
3. "Urn" by Ne Obliviscaris (Get high, throw this on in the dark on good headphones. Trust.)
4. "Monarch of Monsters" by Vylet Pony (very hard listen, but it hits so very hard)
5. "Volume 2" by Everything Yes (wonderful groovy jazz, makes my fingers twitch with the bassline MMM)
(can't find
them on Bandcamp)

Oh dear, my collection at this point is unwieldy large with a wild variety of genres as my Bandcamp page can attest ^^;
I'll try to not make it too long x3
Let's start with some all time faves from the [post] black metal field:
Add some stoner / post rock:
Some electronic:
Some pop:
And some queer anarchism:

My go-to recommendation is Girl Talk - All Day. It's a mash-up album that benefits a lot from being listened to in sequence.
I don't have a single video link, but here's also a link to Cloud Cult's Unplug album, which is a live performance album. Also benefits significantly from listening to it in sequence.

Dang I thought of making a "take a recommendation, leave a recommendation" thread but this popped up before I got the energy to make it.
Anyway Bad Religion - The New America (2000) is what I leave for you.

Hell yeah! I've never actually sat and listened to the whole thing, just the occasional track that would come up on recommendeds and get added to the playlist. Great to see someone else who knows em.xwildwhirlx wrote: Mon Jul 21, 2025 5:40 pm I will always recommend Hawaii Part II as my number 1 album

Re: Anyone Wanna Trade Album Recommends? Any genre!
MoM was the first thing I heard from Vylet (specifically Pest), haven't really had the juice to dive into her backlogue, at least with the impression that MoM left on me (it's emotionally taxing lmao). I think the only other thing I consistently listen to of hers is Girls Who Are Also Wizards (if I'm remembering the title right), which is always fun to toss on while power cleaning.Linzolle wrote: Mon Jul 21, 2025 1:17 pmMONARCH OF MONSTERS MENTIONED!!!!!! Sleep Token is a band I keep hearing about, haven't actually looked into them much, again other than just the odd track popping up here and there (I think specifically Eden? If that's even the track name?), so that'll be a dive I'll take in the next couple of days (my to-listen list is rapidly expanding lmao)
Never heard of 10 Years, excited to see how they sound. You're getting me hyped, it'd better live up to it XD

Not gonna lie, saw the post Black Metal part and immediately did the Dwayne Johnson eyebrow raise. Been listening to the odd spot of Blackened Death Metal lately, and have been hard vibing to it. Definitely going to start working my way through the list.Flann wrote: Mon Jul 21, 2025 9:59 am Oh dear, my collection at this point is unwieldy large with a wild variety of genres as my Bandcamp page can attest ^^;

And some queer anarchism:
Love to see Gnome getting mentioned (Wenceslas was my first and still is my favourite track, though I oughta dive a bit more into them) and Perturbator I at least recognize, though I don't think I could name any specific track)
I think the only queer anarchism I've listened to is Vampire Cowgirl, so I'm down to explore the... style? Theme? Dunno what the term for category would be, but in any case I'll give it a go

Usually I don't care for the live renditions of songs (nothing against em as an idea, glad people enjoy them, I just prefer the focus of the studio versions), but I'll give it a whack.

I saw there wasn't a thread for it yet, and have a lot of fun recommending music to people, so I figured why not lol. Glad to see it already having some life!

Aight, so someone mentioned posting their bandcamp library, so I figured that I might as well. Haven't listened to half of it as much as I should, but some of those familiar favourites just keep snagging me lmao

Dancing around the kitchen while catching up on dishes. Really makes me miss some of the 2000's-early 2010's pop music, and I think I recognize a lot of the hip hop samples from a CD that my dad had burned for cleaning to. Couldn't say for sure, but they're very familiar at the least

Upon starting Violent Allies, I immediately started thinking White Rabbit by Egypt Central.
