Copetti's "Architecture of Consoles"

Post by plumpan »

In case you've somehow not heard of it

https://www.copetti.org/writings/consoles/

Detailed and cited writeups of the hardware architecture in lots of video game consoles. I don't have much to say about it other than it's really good.

I most certainly do need to read more of the articles contained, especially what R. Copetti listed as pre-reqs to better understanding the PC Engine & TurboGrafx-16 CPU (namely, the articles for the NES and possibly the SNES as well) --

but yes, +1 to the statement that these are a great set of technical summaries for the listed consoles.
