Don't know if it technically counts but if you like shows about girls that have abilities powered by song, then you might like Symphogear

This is the Season 3 opening scene and it's probably one of the best ways of selling a show I've seen

They show is also incredibly gay,

Princess Tutu is one of my favorite anime of all time and I grew up on Sailor Moon so I have great respect for magical girl shows.

I watched the Cardcaptor Sakura anime with my partner recently (and we're close to finishing Clear Card too.) It was really nice to watch a show where the hero wins through problem solving and puzzles instead of strength, and I liked how the show pretty much works like Mega Man (defeat opponents, gain an ability, use that growing assortment of abilities when going up against more opponents.) And of course my mascot liking self latches onto Kero, though I was already vaguely aware of him before getting into the series, especially considering that when I designed a magical familiar form for my sona she turned out looking quite like him hehe.

I have some experience with Flower Witch Mary Bell and I really need to finish it at some point; it's a very early magical girl show before some of the tropes got really established, and it's really cute and lighthearted; it honestly reminds me of Jimmy Neutron's plot structure (have a problem, try to solve it with tech (magic in this case), solution causes new problems) and that ended up giving me the really cursed realization that the "Brain Blast" segment plays the same role in the story as a magical girl transformation, with the character "powering up" to solve the problem via some sort of reused animation.

CCS was one of the first anime I ever saw and I still have a lot of affection for it. Kero is one of my favorite characters in anything - part wise mentor, part weird little creature, constantly pushing Sakura to get over her fears and be who he knows she's capable of being. Touya is also really interesting - outwardly just this jerk of a big brother, but with so much depth and background in his own right.
