Since Silent Hill f is officially out, felt like a good chance to dedicate a thread to the franchise.
Here's a brief summary of mainline Silent Hill Games:
Silent Hill - Where Daughter?
Silent Hill 2 - Where Wife?
Silent Hill 3 - Where Dad?
Silent Hill 4 - Where exit?
Silent Hill: Homecoming - Where brother?
Silent Hill: Downpour - Where freedom?
I think Heather is one of my favorite horror protagonists and I've learned to appreciate SH3 a bit more in recent years compared to SH2. But anything before 4 I'm a big fan of. I also enjoyed SH2 Remake and first impressions of Silent Hill f are strong.

Forget my name and I'll forget it too."
I want to hear what the "where ____" taglines would be for things like the exclusive scenario in the Game Boy Advance Silent Hill Play Novel or ye olde original Silent Hill mobile games, also. And maybe also for The Original Adventure of Trucker Joe or You Are Gonna Get Psychoalanyzed for the Wii, PSP, and PS2.
... It occurs to me that I've not actually played any of the actual original four Silent Hill titles.
Just finished Silent Hill f's "true ending" (I'm not sure if it's the true one, but it's the most involved to get).
I really enjoyed the story, and appreciated that all the NG+ playthroughs add some extra files and cutscenes for more context. I probably need some time to process it, but this might be my favorite Silent Hill entry, or at least one of my favorites.

It's honestly really exciting that there's a full-on new Silent Hill entry that seems fully worthwhile after so long. I don't know if my current computer can run f, but I definitely want to give it a shot and see how it stacks up to the original four-game run.
I might end up playing the originals again this October, but I'll have to see... they're all some of the coolest and most atmospheric horror games around for sure. 2 has always been my favorite for its narrative, but I think 4, despite some unpolished elements in its visuals and audio, is the most interesting of the series mechanically - but all four games are really loveable. I actually want to play Silent Hill Origins pretty soon, even, despite the fact that most of the western-developed SH games seem pretty lackluster.
