Riki-Oh, my gf streamed it a while back and holy hell. probebly one of the most insane, gory movies I've ever seen! It has a absolutely cartoonish level of violence.apparently the manga that it was adapted from was even more batshit crazy, and also has a character that was the inspiration for M. Bison!

The Black Hole (1979) - Maximillian Schell chewing the scenery. Need I say more? Need I?! Okay, I will! Maximillian Schell, Anthony Perkins, Yvette Mimieux, Roddy McDowall, and Ernest fuckin' Borgnine all on a spooky near-derelict spaceship perched on the edge of a massive black hole. Melodrama, special effects, robots, special effects, going to Hell, special effects! It's so good in so many ways. Some people see it as a cult classic these days, but I genuinely enjoy it for what it is and what it's trying to be. Plus, that fantastic soundtrack by John Barry!
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) - I'm a huge Star Trek fan, and so Star Trek 5 holds a special place in my heart anyway, but I also enjoy it for what it tries to do. Laurence Luckinbill does a fine job of portraying Spock's half-brother, Sybok, and while the special effects are nothing to write home about, there are key moments in the film which are nothing short of brilliant. It's one of the more emotional Trek films for me, and I love it so much.
Wagons East (1994) - John Candy's final film (well, final film in production at the time). Yeah, the story's spread thin, some of the characters are too silly or too boring, the humor's sometimes too generic and broad, but the movie itself is so much fun and of course I love Candy in everything he's ever done. I also love the idea of a group of settlers saying "this is bullshit!" and heading back east to "civilization." So this one's always a watcher for me.
