Communal CSS shitposting was a sorely needed function on the internet, and I hope to see something else allow for that.

Hi, another Cohost expat here. Own one of the official merch shirts and every time I wear it I sigh in memory of the social media site that felt right to me. The freedom to post what I wanted and how I wanted was so refreshing. It kind of made me feel excited about posting in the internet again, and seeing what other people were cooking at the same time. Miss it dearly.

I was on cohost too while it was still active! It was pretty neat! It's kind of a shame that it shut down soon-ish after I started writing short stories, because I feel like those could've done fairly decent-ish on there, but oh well.

I am -- I got on for a while shortly after it opened, and started getting more active... a few months before the announcement. Just when I felt I was hitting my stride with it. So it goes.

I really liked the place but I hated the ways people would talk about how it was operated. But part of that was because I've had to field similar complaints at my work and it's like, "ah, you've put like zero thought into what it would actually require to implement what you're asking for". Whatever.

Anyway, I miss it, but it might be personally better for me to have less websites to idly sift through.

Didn't use it much during its tenure and I kinda regret that

I bounced between cohost and pillowfort, I so badly wanted cohost to work out because the more places that aren't the central web we have the better.

It's a shame, eggbug will be missed. Maybe it'll ride again but that's unlikely.

Tried it out on and off, but I ultimately didn't have enough people I knew to set roots in yet another "tumblr killer"-like platform. It's a shame too, in its twilight, it really started burgeoning into a true community. Almost wanted to make a return and give it a try, but that was almost immediately around the time its closure was announced...

I wasn't SUPER active there, but it was a frequent haunt of mine and I'm still sad to have seen it go.

More than anything else I'm mad that I never got an eggbug plush.
