Strange New (virtual) Worlds: The VR Chat World Megathread
World exploration is one of my favorite VR passtimes, and I've got a favorites list that's already too dang stuffed, but I wanna see what cool stuff is out there and share finds of my own!
I'll start with my bread and butter "First time in VR? Let me show you some cool stuff" worlds
The Pact
Visit here: https://vrchat.com/home/world/wrld_d8a7 ... cf817/info
A beurocratic office for cryptid furry alien horrors, but don't worry, it's a chill place to hang out. A non stop barrage of 90s and 2000s iconography stitched together with alien logic and great (frequently hilarious) worldbuidling, you can easily sink a few hours into seeing everything this place has to offer.
Ring City Stelle
Visit Here: https://vrchat.com/home/world/wrld_a402 ... 1e392/info
The pact is part of a big, big, universe of interconnected worlds and environments. There's literally a *model* of the titular Ring City in it. The Ring city itself is a multilayered city, with a surprisingly massive explorable world documenting a mere fraction of it's supposed total mass in lore. There's freaky disaster areas, alien hospitals, a food court...another fantastically realized chunk of alien world to explore
Antiheat's Apartment
Visit Here: https://vrchat.com/home/world/wrld_424c ... a6d6f/info
Don't let the title fool you: While you can in fact, visit the titular apartment it's part of a wider alien cyberpunk city. Watch cars and spaceships rush by while you grind Sonic Style on the conduits between nightclubs, warehouses, gardens, and even a few rips in reality. Not always the highest framerates, but the scale, complexity, and depth of everything around you makes it worth it. Just be careful of the Space Drug station, the place is overwhelming enough already!

Galaxy Express

I'm a big fan of train worlds and even though the author of this has a farm more popular world (Hwabon Night), this one just feels cozy as you soar through the galaxy. Also very hard to lose your group because it's a straight line.
Y2K Background

Ever wanted to explore Y2K PC wallpapers? Now you can! It's very good if you're craving a "this is what we imagined VR would be like in the 90s" vibe.

Hokyl Nite
Set in the same world as Antiheat's Apartment. Drive, grapple, glide, or kaiju-sized stomp around a big city that is home to a bunch of alien species.
77077 Bar and Arcade
A bar (and Blockbuster Video) made into a museum of nostalgia hits. A great place I take people when I wanna nerd out about game shit I grew up with.
Tile Gun
You like riichi mahjong? Here you go, a world with a bunch of tables that have all the features you've come to expect from a client like Mahjong Soul or Riichi City. Supports 2, 3, and 4 player modes and can have basic AI players sit in.
Blossom
My favorite music listening world. Simple at first, but to the right when you enter the main door is the VJ controls, which allow you to set all kinds of audiolinked effects around the room.

Re: Strange New (virtual) Worlds: The VR Chat World Megathread
Cosmoria is a virtual spaceflight museum. It's been a while since I last visited so it has probably received some updates, but I remember it being really impressive with to-scale scans of various vehicles used in different space programs, as well as a demonstrated timeline of launches.
Idle Home is a virtual idle game set in a rather cozy world. It's very straightforward - you've got swords and other weapons, you smack 'em on the mob in the world and slowly gain levels as you defeat it. It's a nice place to watch videos or chill if you want something interactive going on.

Re: Strange New (virtual) Worlds: The VR Chat World Megathread
oooh a lot of cool stuff already, i'm adding these to my "to try" list
Space Flowers
Someone made an audio reactive world in OpenBrush and it's so unlike anything else I've seen in VR. Absolutely phenomenal stuff, even if it's just basically a hallway. Their other worlds are equally unique.
God of Feet
sorry this world is my favorite world, i promise it's not what it sounds like but describing it ruins it. it's incredible. you can fly around on the toilets.
Floating-point Precision Breakdown
You wanna scrungle your avatar? You wanna get sick as hell because the whole world is twitching? You wanna learn what it looks like when math itself fails and distance becomes little more than an abstraction? Seriously though this world is not for the faint of heart, but it certainly results in some fun screenshots.

Water Theater and Bar
A great world if you need a big screen but also want to get fake plaster and knock yourself off your feet with screen distorting effects
The Avatar Studio
One of the best worlds to test out and avatar in. Also gives you a good way to make a reference image of your avatar.
Tier Land
Do you like getting into arguments with your friends?
deerly beloved's port of the PlayStation Namco Museums
Vol. 1
Vol. 2
Vol. 3
Vol. 4
These ports of the fully walkable museums from the PSX Namco Museum games are basically only missing the ability to play the actual games to be an almost perfect recreation of these. They even have the regional differences between the Western and Japanese release and all the easter eggs from the original.
De Puzlo's Pad
Oh hey who dropped this her-- *vaudeville hooked off*

Re: Strange New (virtual) Worlds: The VR Chat World Megathread
HAHA HELL YEAH, I WAS HOPING WE'D HAVE A THREAD LIKE THIS!!! Here are some of my faves:
Voyage Alpha (and the rest of Alpha Monster's worlds)

A cozy spaceship flying through space, and my current home world. Has a nice big video screen with an equalizer and a few audio link elements. The rest of Alpha Monster's worlds are equally cozy and sci-fi/fantasy themed - a weekly meet I attend uses them a lot.
NeoWorlds
A world simulating older social MMOs that allows for so, so much more than you would think is possible in a VRChat world. Custom homes, its own text chat, drawing, mouse-based movement, and more! Best with friends!
NUCLEUS

Brutalist megastructure water park. Lots of secrets, and no jumpscares or anything... just some scary water slides.
Tanks!

A fun PvP recreation of the only game anyone cares about from Wii Play. Has some desync issues, but is still fun (and better than Trash Compactor)!

This world is inhabited by creatures known as Bunnies.

Re: Strange New (virtual) Worlds: The VR Chat World Megathread
Lotta worlds I could add to the thread, but for now I'll just mention Organism and its prequels, Epilogue Chapters 1 and 2.

Massive (both physically and in filesize, as a heads up), eerie worlds that draw on the author's experiences living in the former Soviet sphere of influence, they're definitely worth checking out in full if you have an hour or two to spare. (If you've got a fear of heights, though, do brace yourself - there are some narrow walkways very high up in some parts >.> )

Re: Strange New (virtual) Worlds: The VR Chat World Megathread
Despite being a Nothing when it comes to actually being on the platform of VRChat, I've done a fair bit of world hopping that I'm pretty proud of, so I realize I should share some highlights from my public favorites here because Why Not
- Aquarius - Beautiful hangout world; a house at the bottom of a huge aquarium with windows and info panels all over. Pretty taxing and PC only, but has all the amenities I'd want and is very cozy imo
- The Midnight Bar - I've never played the game this world is based on, but it's honestly tempting now that I've played this. Another good social world that's semi-popular as I've seen centered around a bar where you can make cocktails, namely ones with models that barely look like beverages at all, and achieve varying levels of inebriation. There are even secret recipes scattered around the map
- Gumball Lounge 3 - A beautiful, trippy puzzle world that I haven't explored simply because I didn't have the stamina. Every puzzle is super cool and I'd love to play this through with friends ome day
- Bus To Nowhere - An eternal bus ride that balances exploration with chill socialization. Supposedly, a full playthrough of this takes upwards of ten hours, and I have not had that kind of patience yet. Motion sickness warning *just in case*
- Probability Labs - It's Plates of Fate from Roblox. Need I say more? A game that doesn't take much thought and is fun to play with friends
- Bayshore Loop - For fans of wangan racing, a world with car mechanics that are surprisingly fun in VR. After my friends and I discovered this world initially I remember one of them staying up late at night grinding this out for speed and it was very funny. Motion sickness warning probably
- JSR Festival - Another game based on something I barely know anything about the source material of, but one with very fun music mechanics that feel reminiscent of some of what I've played of BRC. Motion sickness warning for sure
- Hit the Jackpot! - I'm addicted
- RESONARK 4 ELVES Pt.2 - A rhythm game that destroys my framerate and is somewhat fun. I haven't played it in a while so I have no idea if it was updated with persistence. There are multiple older versions of the world with different song selections in them, so definitely look through the creator's profile for those if you're interested

I feel like some of you critters would get a kick out of Sensory Rooms
