Too many to count. I run three events dedicated to appreciating bad games.
If I had to narrow it down: Lost in Plantinus is the most unusual MSX obscura because some kid built it in his basement in the 90s and it somehow ended up shared with a scenegroup and preserved. It's terrible; it runs at ...

Re: Babylon 5: Our Last, Best Hope For Peace
I need to go through B5 again. I just finished a rewatch of Battlestar Galactica and B5 is the only thing that even lands in the same ballpark for me.

Re: Games involving Cards you can Trade!
I've considered getting into Pokemon a few times, but I've had problems even finding cards. Every time I go somewhere that claims to have them they're completely sold out.

I've wanted something like this ever since eeePCs stopped becoming what they were and turned into "Kinda small-ish full sized laptops" (and now they're just... full sized laptops, I don't know, meh)
I was looking into premade stuff for awhile. I mostly just need a device with a keyboard I can carry ...

Re: RPG Maker is neat, guest starring OHRRPGCE
My favorite RPG Maker game is EXTRA POWER: The Giant Fist which is... a side-scrolling beat 'em up that runs on RPG Maker VX. Save the animals of Africa by throwing your enemies at your enemies. Throw screen-sized boulders at your enemies. Throw lasers at your enemies. Throw a shark at your ...

Gosh I wrote all this stuff and I forgot to include the RPG Maker game I helped a friend build. Silly me.
Speo is a Lufia 2 Ancient Cave homage built in RPG Maker 2003.

not to interrupt the thread but i'm realising. i have never heard the term "blobber" before and i have no earthly clue what it means lmao

RPG Maker is neat, guest starring OHRRPGCE
I like weird obscure indie RPGs. I've played quite a few RPG Maker games and am always curious to find more that are good. Steam's actually started a low-key golden age for RPG Maker games not just reaching a new level of quality but being a completely valid way to develop a for-sale game. So yeah ...

Re: Crawlers, Blobbers, and Procedural Death Labyrinths - Let's Die in a Dungeon!
Unfortunately the follow up does not appear to have been as positively received, from nixing the party to removing faction missions in favour of just having a specific goal you're pursuing.
I've also seen multiple people try to stream the sequel and find it runs like absolute butt on even ...

I still need to sit down and play Citadel; people have described it as "Eroge with some shooting in the middle" and I imagine that's... a wee bit oversold but it looks neat.

The entire "Experience Inc" Blobber collection is great. If people like Undernauts, the same devs made Operation Abyss and Babel, and Savior of Sapphire Wings which carry the same vibe.
They also made Sword City which is not the same vibe but is neat in its own way.

Most of my NES childhood knowledge comes from a famiclone that was really popular in Serbia called "Terminator - Ending Man."

I've always had an affinity for lightning. It's the spec I always picked in RPGs and such. I always had an affinity for fast glass cannons too.

Re: Bomberman
For what it's worth, the Genesis game is a port of one of the Turbografx games (the one I listed in the recommendations in the first post actually).

Re: Bomberman
A couple months ago I played all the "Classic" ones and it's such a weird varied spectrum of stuff. In my opinion if you're just jumping in, starting Super Bomberman 3 on the SNES is the best play. It has some of the best atmosphere, best QoL, and introduces Louie, and Louie is both a staple going ...

Dungeons need not confine you to the grid! A really interesting game is Dicing Knight.

I've been playing Divinity II: Ego Draconis because someone dropped a patch that fixes... whatever the heck is wrong with that game to make it visually run at 10 FPS on newer hardware.

Slightly OT perhaps but I stumbled sometime ago onto the fact that in the 70s, Hanna-Barbera was kind of prolific in what they did with their licenses. One of the weirder things that came out of it was HB forming a sub-organization that started making educational films with their characters.

Re: Crawlers, Blobbers, and Procedural Death Labyrinths - Let's Die in a Dungeon!
The original Avatar on the PLATO/CYBIS was something I set up an entire emulator stack to play. There is a local-run PLATO emulator and someone grabbed a dump of everything that was on it at some point and it's still kicking around; that's the basis of cyber1. The entire stack is about 2GB, which is ...
