Re: gaming on Linux
My partner and I both have 8bitdos. I've got the one with the SNES-style concave buttons that also has handles more like a Playstation controller that's pretty much ideal as an all-purpose controller. Partner has the Super Famicom styled one with no handles, though he still prefers some ancient ...

Re: Have you played Atari 2600 to-day?
My dad had an Atari 2600 that he'd randomly sometimes hook up for a weekend or two back in the late NES/early SNES era so I've got some fond memories. He mostly just played Space Invaders but we had a dozen or so cartridges and pretty much all of them were enjoyable. I'd still dig it out of the ...

Me! I would still like to throw down in SF6 with anyone on these forums good or bad. It's fun to play against someone new.

Re: The Steam Deck Thread - Almost Everything is a Handheld Game Now
The "stream install from pc to steam deck" thing is so convenient. Sucks that it cannot be used the other way tho.
You can! I copied Street Fighter 6 over from it to my desktop the other day now that I have a drive with some actual free space on it.

Finally returning to Yoshi's Island recently. Had it as a kid, but could never beat the final boss. Made a few half-hearted stabs over the years where I'd get like 2 or 3 worlds in before stopping but I've been sticking with it this time and just hit world 5 last night.

Re: AW SHIT, HERE COMES PAC-MAN
Ever wondered why it's always Ms. Pac-Man at the arcade? I don't think I've ever seen a Pac-Man cabinet IRL, it's almost universally Ms. Pac-Man in my experience.
OG Pac Man is fully deterministic which makes it possible to just memorize patterns and get the same results every time. Ms Pac Man ...

Re: Nintendo DS - Touching is Good
I picked up a fat DS when a kid at school was looking to sell one after getting a DS Lite. I got it mostly for Pokemon Diamond/Pearl knowing I'd be able to trade and battle friends I made online so it wouldn't matter if nobody else was playing locally.

Re: Mod Tracker music
What do you all use for listening to this stuff on modern systems anyway?
Random Linux distro included audio players rarely seem to have support for these, whereas back in my Windows days Winamp seemed to handle mod, midi, s3m, xm, etc etc out of the box.

Re: Music Library Software?
Picard was really useful for me to wrangle my messy collection of mp3s mostly downloaded in the early 2000s on various filesharing sites and often in pieces rather than full albums. The database it references from is quite loaded with non-"professional" album releases as well which was really nice.
