Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Paul Blart seems like a movie you watch for all the memes surrounding it.

Re: Tetris

I heard about Pandora's Blocks ( Github ) a few days ago. It looks like a TGM-like on the Game Boy Color, though when I tried it in their emulator it seemed to have a few bugs. No music, either. :|

I really like Bombliss/Tetris Blast; it's really satisfying to get big explosions, and I don't ...

Re: In my restless dreams, I see that thread - Silent Hill

The peak moment of the series is So it was all your work! with Mira.

The entirety of Silent Hill 1 is a close second.

Re: How to stay interested in forums?

The rule was more important when forums were centered more on frequently making new threads for everything. It used to be that someone would make a new thread for every question or thing they wanted to share, and giant catch-all megathreads were discouraged*.

It was also a little more important ...

Re: SPEEDRUNNING *nyoooooooooooom*

I don't speedrun "seriously", but it's fun to use a stopwatch to time how long it takes to play through some short games, or when doing randomizers.

Re: Undertale and/or Deltarune

The 10th anniversary stream has been fun to watch. It's at https://twitch.tv/fangamer and'll be on YouTube tonight.

The memories that have been getting shown off are nice. I am glad they put in a few normal/funny ones amongst all the emotional stories.

Re: Do you have a Home Server? You should!

It's more that we don't have anything around that level of power. We'd basically be plugging in a whole new desktop PC to run things, with all of the power that requires.

I know how to handle the thermostat, too, but we don't live in a place with a central thermostat, or even useful ones. This ...

Re: Do you have a Home Server? You should!

I don't have a Pi 4, unfortunately. It seems like the 4 and 5 are where they really became more useful as general-purpose machines.

Similarly, I don't think I any use for it outside of the lights. Since we don't own our home, we can't replace the thermostats, or doorknobs, or anything else, so ...

Re: How to stay interested in forums?

I'm of a differing opinion in that sometimes, you want individual threads. Megathreads work, but in the same way that social media does: a thread stops being about a thing and just becomes a place to dump random thoughts (or pictures).

From a different perspective: I might not be interested in ...

Re: Strange New (virtual) Worlds: The VR Chat World Megathread

Some things from my lists. Strangeness and/or newness not guaranteed.

Ceej's Prize Palace : A little arcade with some simple games. You can "win" things from the UFO catchers (in that they're just props you can carry). I kept hoping you could "use" them to get (public) avatars.

Destructible ...

Re: Do you have a Home Server? You should!

I'd like to host a home server, but I don't have any well-fitting hardware. A few old desktop PCs, a few old laptops, and a 10-year-old NAS. The desktops feel simultaneously too bulky and powerful for the job, and the NAS definitely isn't up to the task.

Several people I know have been using ...

Re: Switching to Linux for the first time!

I also switched to Mint recently, though I'm not using the Cinnamon flavor as the machine is a bit low-power.

Depending on your setup, you might be able to access the Windows partition's files in read-only mode. I haven't finished migrating all my data yet, and that's how I use my music collection ...

Re: How to stay interested in forums?

If you use bookmarks, you can use the "active topics" list for one. That will give you a quick look at every thread that's been posted in recently.

The other part of it is simply posting. Interacting with the community keeps you engaged, and keeps others engaged with the community, too. Post post ...
