Re: Now Playing...

Currently playing Sega Master System game Zillion, for a multiworld randomizer.

Zillion is a pretty fun search action game, where you gradually grow your powers and get more party members while delving deep into an enemy headquarters. It has a really unique system of progression, where you need to ...

It was a good time!

Shin Megami Tensei (PSX version) beated
Went for the Neutral route. Very good game! I have the SFC carts for 1, 2, If..., and Kyuuyaku, but the PSX versions for SMT1 and 2 are a bit more appealing to me due to the 3D environments. The turning/movement in the SFC version is a little rough in ...

I've been using BambooTracker (tracker that emulates the PC98 sound hardware) to make music.
Unsure if it qualifies for this, but I'll toss one of them in here.

Thanks for covering it; I agree with all of this. If you have a DM that really knows the lore and setting, then you could have an amazing campaign full of political intrigue

Hi, I do art sometimes! It is all manner of art, too. I don't have a consistent schedule or medium; just doing what I feel at the time.

Wanted to post a few that I liked over the years.

Re: """"bad""""" games you actually like

Of course, nostalgia is a huge factor in how much I love this dumbass game, but it's also got a lot of fascinating concepts; I was a huge Castlevania fan already when it came out, but was young enough to not have much of a critical eye. I enjoyed the hell out of it and continue to, to this day ...

Re: Longform YouTube Content

I greatly enjoy Flawed Peacock's videos.

He tends to do deep dive on indie games that have a lot to analyze. Definitely has his own vibes (along with skits!), and it's nice to see someone actively going through the process of theory crafting, and digging down into symbolism. No surface level ...

Admittedly, it has been a while since I've touched it, but I recall many of the mechanics really utilizing the concept of you playing as an animal.

Rules for hovering/flying, climbing, and other physical things that don't get much notice in more human focused role playing, which leads to more ...

I have a friend that regularly screens movies that were either on Red Letter Media's Best of the Worst, or movies of that same caliber. It's always an enjoyable time when in a room with a bunch of friends.

This, plus a ton of other racing games for the platform, make it a solid system to me. The racing wheel for it, while somewhat jank, actually makes a lot of games feel... good? The port of Virtua Racing with the wheel is actually really dope.

Re: Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 Megathread - NX Gon Give it to Ya!

Over time, my Switch has turned into an EGG Console and Shmup machine.

Despite the extra frame or two of lag consistently applied across games, it's still an amazing system for the game offerings - CAVE ports, Arcade Archives, Toaplan collection, etc. These all work amazingly with the FlipGrip ...

Love my lil PC Engine! I have a Core Grafx II Model.

I've got a number of HuCards, but I also have a Super HD System 3 for it, which lets you load basically any game and adds HDMI output.

Big Nihon Falcom fan, so the PCE is like the perfect platform for me, haha

In my first PF2 campaign right now. Did not play PF1 at all.

Character is a Lizardfolk Guard/Ruffian. She is from a hidden city, whose ancient magical relic was absconded with, and now her long term goal is to return with the stolen relic, and to bring back cool things from the outside world.

Currently at End of Content in Unnamed Space Idle.

It's still in active development, but I have over 2222 hours in it at this point.

The game allows for a ton of micromanagement and different ship loadouts. Once you get far enough to really milk a mechanic, it tends to get retired or replaced by ...
