Re: Taskmaster: All Words And Images Are Metaphors For The Things They Represent

Taskmaster NZ Season 6 cast announced:

Jack Ansett & Pax Assadi are on 7 Days all the time
Alice Snedden is on the Taskmaster Podcast frequently. Used to be on 7 Days quite a bit before I started watching it.
Jackie Van Beek plays the Guillermo equivalent in the What We Do in the Shadows movie

Re: Now Playing...

I've spent the last week or two jumping back into OpenTTD, because trains.

I've never really been good at OpenTTD and the last time I played it was probably 2013 or 2014... so this time I'm really digging in, learning how the path signals work, how to build efficient junctions, and different ...

Re: Please help me make Windows 11 suck less

I think I wanna make kind of a blanket statement on this: The very concept of using software is wink wink trust me bro unless you wrote it yourself.

For powershell scripts, yeah okay sure don't run one without knowing what it does but there's only so many powershell commands, you could google your ...

Re: Metroid series

The EMMI take some time to get used to. Trying to figure out if you have enough runway to break the shield & then having to remember the button combination that you've used only twice before to fire off the mega beam that blasts their faces off.

I think my main annoyance with Dread is that the ...

Re: Progressive Rock

The reason I got into The Mars Volta is because I'm an At The Drive-In fan.

At The Drive-In which is more of a post hardcore band with a more traditional songs structure might be an easier entry point to the world of Cedric and Omar?

Re: Progressive Rock

I think the only bands I listen to that could be considered prog are Porcupine Tree , Coheed & Cambria , and The Mars Volta . In Absentia, Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV Vol 1 and Amputechture are two three of my favorite albums of all time.

And yeah I would not consider Porcupine Tree to be metal ...

Re: Favorite Easter Eggs and Cheat Codes?

Let's talk about Zybourne Clock.

Zybourne Clock was a theoretical goon (as in Something Awful Forums Poster, before the cultural context of the word changed) project from 2003 that never happened. It was steampunk and about time travel I think? The main guy was named Johnny Fiveaces.

It was ...

Re: Music Library Software?

I do like MusicBee. Supposedly there is a way to get MusicBee to use my Navidrome server as the source for the library but I cannot for the life of me get it to work. Plus I'm in Linux full time now anyway.

Re: Who have you seen [[[ LIVE ]]]?

I go to concerts all the time! It's one of the reasons I moved to a major city, me and my husband go to alot of them, especially in the warmer months.

Earlier this year I saw The Deftones & Mars Volta, then Queens of the Stone Age, then Godspeed You Black Emperor. On Saturday I saw Weird Al

Re: Taskmaster: All Words And Images Are Metaphors For The Things They Represent

One thing I don't get is the odd choice to replace the cast of five per season with a cast of four per season + 1 new guest every episode. It breaks a part of the chemistry between the contestants and obviously makes both the episode and season wins a bit weirder, when the winner an episode might ...

Buuuuut I do wonder if that's just a very 2025 queer media analysis way of looking at things, and it feels a bit off to speculate on stuff like this about someone who's not here anymore and who left behind cryptic fragments at best.

I think unless the signs were completely obvious in retrospect ...

Like is a strong word but I'm academically fascinated with David Cage's work. Heavy Rain's the closest he ever got to making a good game, it's one of those things where it becomes greater than the sum of it's parts.

I have had many iterations of my website but the current one, built in the aftermath of Cohost shutting down, runs on OctoberCMS. I've mostly been using it to talk about TV shows that I watch.

The most recent iteration before this was built on Joomla, and then during an upgrade attempt the whole ...

We Shall All Be Healed is not the most popular, or strictly speaking even the best Mountain Goats album, but it is the most *textbook* mountain goats album. This is the one that is what I like about the mountain goats in it's most direct form.
