In python I am team tabs

Re: Switching to Linux for the first time!

I'm actually sort of glad I'm rawdogging ZFS - it was terrifying at first, but now I have a way better understanding of how all this stuff works and was able to build my own monitoring that suits my needs.

Re: Switching to Linux for the first time!

What I've found more important for ZFS is not overloading your SATA controller... 4 drives max.

I have a raidz1 with five drives, one is for parity. Apparently during periods of high activity (such as, oh, I don't know, downloading many tv shows at once) if you have all your drives on the same SATA ...

Re: Switching to Linux for the first time!

I set up a fresh Linux Mint partition back in June and haven't really looked back, I've had to boot into windows twice to get some configuration stuff I forgot about but otherwise I don't really miss it now that I've hammered out solutions to most of my pain points. Still some things don't really ...

Re: Now Playing...

I put down OpenTTD, I did a long and narrow map as a bit, it kind of ended up working out, connected the whole thing with passenger train lines and a couple of industry lines, feel like I got what i needed out of it.

So now I have picked Rollerdrome back up, which I played a little when it came out ...

Two neurons diverged in a yellow wood, and I am "undiagnosed but pretty sure"

I don't think it massively negatively affects me day to day, but I do feel like I make alot of social mistakes and sometimes do a bad job of communicating what i'm trying to get across (unless the person I am talking to ...

As a long time lets player, I have edited more videos than I could probably ever count.

Unfortunately now that I'm on linux full time the davinci situation is dire... it doesn't support h264 at all, which is, let's face it, most videos . On windows it's different, and I still dislike it for other ...

Taskmaster NZ Season 6 cast announced:

I've spent the last week or two jumping back into OpenTTD, because trains.

I've never really been good at OpenTTD and the last time I played it was probably 2013 or 2014... so this time I'm really digging in, learning how the path signals work, how to build efficient junctions, and different ...

I think I wanna make kind of a blanket statement on this: The very concept of using software is wink wink trust me bro unless you wrote it yourself.

The EMMI take some time to get used to. Trying to figure out if you have enough runway to break the shield & then having to remember the button combination that you've used only twice before to fire off the mega beam that blasts their faces off.

I think my main annoyance with Dread is that the ...

The reason I got into The Mars Volta is because I'm an At The Drive-In fan.

At The Drive-In which is more of a post hardcore band with a more traditional songs structure might be an easier entry point to the world of Cedric and Omar?

I think the only bands I listen to that could be considered prog are Porcupine Tree , Coheed & Cambria , and The Mars Volta . In Absentia, Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV Vol 1 and Amputechture are two three of my favorite albums of all time.

And yeah I would not consider Porcupine Tree to be metal ...

Re: Favorite Easter Eggs and Cheat Codes?

Let's talk about Zybourne Clock.

Zybourne Clock was a theoretical goon (as in Something Awful Forums Poster, before the cultural context of the word changed) project from 2003 that never happened. It was steampunk and about time travel I think? The main guy was named Johnny Fiveaces.

It was ...

Re: Taskmaster: All Words And Images Are Metaphors For The Things They Represent

One thing I don't get is the odd choice to replace the cast of five per season with a cast of four per season + 1 new guest every episode. It breaks a part of the chemistry between the contestants and obviously makes both the episode and season wins a bit weirder, when the winner an episode might ...
