Re: Sharp as a Katana - Sega's Dreamcast

In 1999 before the Dreamcast had been released in the UK, a local games store imported a Japanese system. I remember walking in to look at PlayStation games and instead being blown away by Sonic Adventure. The DC's probably been my favourite system ever since.

So many of the games still hold up as ...

Re: The Mega Drive and its ecosystem

Hi Foxxhoria! foxyay

I yearned for a Mega Drive as a kid. While my first console was a Master System (and I remember being disappointed that it wasn't its 16-bit older sibling), the Mega Drive may have been the first system I fell in love with. I always wanted to play on friends' systems when I ...

Re: Fighting Games

Oh hello Weasel... :D

I've been learning Tekken 8 alongside the OP, but my true love is 2D fighters, particularly the King of Fighters series on the Neo-Geo, along with Street Fighter III Third Strike.

I'm a definite arcade stick devotee. I've been tempted to try leverless controllers, but now ...

Re: Minidiscs

I have one which I was given at a kind of pawn-shop-like store. They're so cool in person. I have never been able to hear one though. I'm curious to know what the sound quality is like. Is it as "infinitely crisp" as a CD or does it have some special character? I would love to get a player and a ...

Twinkle Star Sprites has a Saturn version, incidentally! It's a really good port.

Re: In This Thread We Talk About Magic The Gathering

I've been playing Magic since 2010, when an ex gave me a Ravnica preconstructed deck. I've been pretty helplessly addicted ever since!

My constructed format of choice is Legacy. I really enjoy the depth of lines of play, the decision trees, the huge choice of viable decks and playstyles, and the ...

Furry, queer, retro? I'm those things, too!

Hallo!

I'm Jennifer Skunk, though also known as Vulpine when I'm feeling vixen. I'm a trans girl living in the UK,

It's so lovely to see a proper forum coming to life - as soon as one of my friends mentioned it, I knew I wanted to join. I mostly mess around with vintage consoles and stream from ...

Re: NeoGeo AES A system that no one has heard of

I adore the Neo-Geo. I picked up an AES from Japan in 2015, and a couple of the more affordable - okay, less ridiculously expensive - fighters for it. KOF '98 remains an all-time great.

I'm hoping one day to own an arcade cabinet and pick up an MVS to get my Metal Slug fix. And of course Neo Turf ...
