Re: gaming on Linux
Yea, retroarch is kinda rough to set up. Usually when i use it, it is because some other application is using it under the hood, like parallel launcher and that does work okay since it's all preconfigured, but retroarch by itself needs some serious work.

Re: gaming on Linux
speaking of Valve, I still am kinda kicking myself for not getting a Steam Deck a couple years ago when I was looking to get a small Linux computer. I remember at the time being like "Ok, sure, you can do desktop stuff on it too, but I'm not interested in PC games, I'm a console gamer".

Re: sonic

Re: Do you have a Home Server? You should!
my first foray into home servers was turning my previous gaming pc into what is currently a very overspecced NAS using a normal desktop installation of linux mint (as I'm most competent with GUIs)
I also use it for torrents, sending wake on LAN signals to my desktop, and I've previously run a ...

Just use a VPS or some Webspace. I get a TB with my provider and I never get anywhere close to that. Some of the ...

Re: Forum Suggestions and Issues
You may want to consider an image/media proxy. Right now anyone can embed an image link from anywhere, and that remote server hosting the image sees what IP loads that image. It would improve user privacy to implement a proxy. It's not critical but something that should be considered.
I've ...

Re: gaming on Linux
Honestly, Valve has been a great upstream contributor to the Linux kernel and the open source community. They have been throwing a unprecedented number of hours at open source projects they don't own to make gaming on Linux work and they deserve every bit of praise that get for it. We might be ...
