Share (a screenshot of) your fetch!
For those who are not familiar with them: a fetch is a kind of program that shows a whole bunch of your system information, generally in text form on a command line. They're typically found on Linux, but exist for Windows and Mac systems too. Examples are hyfetch, fastfetch and neofetch.

I like how we're five in and haven't had anyone on the same OS/distro yet.

Whoo, another NixOS! I notice that your fetch shows a lot less info than mine. Did you do something to customise it? I'd like to know how.

perfect time to see this thread since we just got our laptop back and are back on that linux grind
you're not gonna like these specs though LMAO
(note: we still use "roxy" on linux systems because we're too lazy to think about which one is gonna have roxy on ssh or if it's gonna be jess so we just go with routine)
also it's great that hyfetch just has pride colors

I regularly juggle between many computers, but NetBSD/amd64 drives my nerdy/geeky Unix box. I wish I could do 100% of my computer activities with it. And it's no surprise, since I'm a NetBSD and pkgsrc developer.

One of the biggest strong points of Linux (and other Unix based systems, hello NetBSD) is that it has very good older hardware support and can also be a lot kinder to lower power systems in terms of resource demands. I love seeing people still getting lots of use out of "outdated" hardware, that's way more cool and interesting to me than someone having bought the latest AMD 999999 GTX whatever.

Indeed, the fact that I can use exactly the same commands on a new PC *and* an early 2000s Sun SPARC workstation is one of the reasons why I love NetBSD so much. The common experience helps me to make sense of all these different computers. I wish I could show the fetch output from my Sun machine right now, but it's back in its box for the moment.

I am stuck on Windows 11 due to my choice of audio production ecosystem. I dabble with Linux but it's not my daily driver.

NetBSD! I have a major soft spot for this OS. It's fun that it'll run on my ancient Pentium III box. I'm also a dues-paying SDF member
