Plastic Planes: A Model Kit Thread

Saw there was a thread for Gunpla-style model kits, so thought I'd spin up one for those model kits that take a bit more finishing work! Planes, trains, automobiles, ships & spacecraft, and anything else that comes with a paint-color chart on the box

I'll start the thread off with some pics of the SR-71 model kit I put together semi-recently! Ended up having to track down an out-of-print decal sheet for this tail livery - I wanted it to be, very specifically, No. 61-7971 (currently residing at the Evergreen A&S Museum in Oregon) as it appeared during its use by NASA, since I've actually met that plane in person. Bit pricey, but worth it I'd say!

I am, primarily, a Gunpla fan, but I've always had an appreciation for more 'conventional' model kits, especially airplanes. Due to the scale differences, plane model kits have things like detailed cockpits that Gunpla kits usually lack, and plane kits have significantly more detailed marking stickers as well - those hazard decals on your SR-71 are beautiful!

I hope that anyone else using this thread provides some tips for model kits, as most skills are transferrable between Gunpla and plane kits.
