A true classic and a genre-defining titan, we've all likely at least heard of the game, if not played it ourselves.
For those not familiar (or only so in passing), Minecraft is a first-person voxel-based simulation/sandbox game, based around placing and removing the various voxel types ("blocks") that make up the game environment. In the decade+ since its original release, it's gone from basically as bare-bones as that summary to an incredibly complex game, with a survival mode, an iconic crafting system, living creatures populating (and in some cases, depopulating) the world, a semblance of a "story", a logic-block system so intricate people have made computers out of it, and so much more. The modding scene is equally vibrant; pretty much the entire factory-game genre grew out of some of the more iconic mods for this game.
So, come on in and talk about Minecraft! Made a cool build you want to show off? Put together a player skin (or, with this audience, more likely a Figura model ) you're proud of? Stumbled across a breathtaking landscape? Got advice for making things look good? Just wanting to reminisce about shenanigans you got up to with some friends? Whatever it is, this is the thread for it!
(Once I transfer my old screenshots folder off my laptop, I'll probably be sharing a few of my highlight builds here myself )

Hell yeah, that base was super impressive! Better concrete work than I've ever done, and you got wayyyy farther down the mekanism tech tree than I ever did
Wish my brain's "hyperfocus on a game for a month or two, then drop it completely until it comes up again in the rotation" habit didn't hit that server so hard >.>
Got a few screenshots myself of what was just off-camera from those ones :3

Here's some recent ones from my current server-play adventure. It's a cobblemon based server.

yay minecraft thread!
Been poking around with data pack creation recently and maintaining a "forever world". I've been playing it so much in the past year lol.
Seems like I don't have too many screenshots on my drive currently, but here's the house I built in my vanilla world (pre-Spring-to-Life; I've since added some extra flora since when I took these), It's a miniature 8x8 woodland mansion:

On a friend's server about a year ago, I tried building my own little bunny warren. I didn't get as far as I would have liked with it though:

Looks really good! Building on a miniature scale like that has always been difficult for me, heh.

oh!! This building is really cool!
Thanks! ^.=.^
I'll share another build of mine here - a modular tile-based cyberpunk city set. Resource pack used is Star Odyssey:

Honestly, I should come back to this project (or at least concept) sometime - lotta meat on these bones still!

Spectrum seems pretty cool and I think a friend was telling me about it recently. I personally am a huge fan of Mana and Artifice, Mithion's spiritual successor to the old Ars Magica 2 mod that pretty much defined my early modded MC journeys. Ars Nouveau also gets a special shoutout for being a more whimsical and fun take on the idea of an Ars Magica 2 successor. Both are great in their own ways and every time I make a modpack I can never choose between them so I end up taking both, haha.
Woaahhh that's really cool!
Big fan of tile-based designs, and the aesthetic on this is just super clean!

Oh absolutely, been a hot minute since I played even just clientside-only mods, let alone raw vanilla ^^;
In terms of favorite mods, Create is absolutely up there (especially with some of the higher-quality addons), pinnacle of modern MC modding imo. There's also Ears, a lightweight skin-addon mod that stores its info in the vanilla skin file, and Farmer's Delight, an expansion on food & crops available in the game.
However, lately I've been playing a bunch of TerraFirmaCraft, a complete-overhaul survival mod that adds a bunch of depth to pretty much every aspect of the game. It's certainly not everyone's cup of tea, but I really enjoy things like "you have to put together a bloomery and actually forge wrought iron" ^.=.^

Oh yeah speaking of TFC, here's some screenshots of my current homestead:
(The wild thing about TFC is that, in these screenshots combined, there are maybe 4 vanilla block types visible - everything else is modded )

it's been a good while since i've last played any mods that aren't just client-side enhancements haha. although, i really like looking around and seeing what's being made from time to time. Enderscape's been one I'm curious about trying at some point. I also haven't tried Create yet, but would really like to eventually and try building some railways with it lol.

I talked about this in my thread about Factory/Automation Games but I've been obsessed with GregTech for a couple years now.
I know people generally thing of GregTech: New Horizons when they hear about GT, but honestly you play something outside of it like the official Community Pack and you get the appeal a lot better because it's not designed by people who want to maximize wait times for everything.
I just started my new save so unfortunatly I got no build screenshots, but I'll definitely be cooking up a nice looking base eventually, got some marble and red granite clusters that I can use for that.

I haven't played with mods that stray from vanilla too much in terms of gameplay. However, I think my favorite mod is Figura.
It lets you use a whole custom model as your player character, complete with Lua integration for spicing things up via scripts. I love playing the game as a bipedal plushie beething while my friend is a quadrupedal plushie dragon that I can ride on the back*!
*with the help of an another mod that lets you ride other players.

Spectrum's very good yeah. Closest we've gotten to a true ChromatiCraft successor. Makes me incredibly glad we have Sinytra Connector on 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. Curious to see what they do next in terms of endgame stuff and functional blocks, or what becomes of the Spectrum/Pastel split.
Another more recent mod I think is neat is Yttr. https://modrinth.com/mod/yttr A lot of really unique functional and decorative tidbits styled after 1.4.7-era modding, which is really refreshing to see. Sadly, the 1.20.1 version doesn't work with Connector yet.
And, as mentioned earlier, ChromatiCraft (as well as RotaryCraft and Reika's other mods) are what I consider to be some of, if not the best mods out there, in terms of uniqueness, depth, visual style, and just on the whole conceptually. Only downsides being that they're closed-source and only on 1.7.10 at the latest. https://reikakalseki.github.io/minecraf ... craft.html
(and oh boy, there's a lot I could talk about in this thread, whether survival worlds, decorative builds, hidden gem mods, or just personal thoughts on the game and modding ecosystem)

Yttr does actually work with Connector on 1.20.1, but you have to use one of the nightly builds. https://yttr.y2k.diy/builds/ (Edit: I got the URL wrong somehow. Fixed now.)
You should be using these anyway; they have some critical bugfixes and new features. The only reason they're not proper releases is neither Una nor I have had the energy...
