Pardon for dumping it here, but there doesn't appear to be a help thread (or I derped!)- how does one list their bookmarked threads? "Your posts" works in a pinch, but it'll stay there forever even if you never touch the thread again, while I prefer to largely reference a self-curated "stuff I am interested in" page after a while.

Next to the post reply button, there should be one that drops down a menu with options to bookmark a thread.

User Control Panel -> Overview -> Manage Bookmarks

Oh, I think I misunderstood what they were for, I had assumed they were the equivalent of a watch list (like your YT subscription page, or XenForo's Watched page, or Vanilla's Bookmarks), a dedicated page, rather than something two layers deep in your control panel.
Guess phpBB is a bit too old school for that.

Petition to make this the forum's first meme. (I made it extra crusty)
IDK put it in the rules thread. It's a simple mistake, but boy is it a recurring one.

Doesn't need a new image but might be worth pointing out you can't hotlink from Discord either.

Good point. Added that!

Hey so not strictly a suggestion, but if I were to want to post a Let's Play, would that be a) allowed, b) something to go in the Games forum or the Art forum? Given the megathread setup for games, I wouldn't want to give the impression that my LP is any sort of definitive authority on「game」or should always be in reference for any discussions of「game」.

I went back and forth on how to go about this and I think the best solution for now is to make a separate sub-forum in "Streaming"
viewforum.php?f=27
I have no idea what the interest is going to be, so we can make it a trial run of sorts.

I think it would be helpful to have a bbcode tag added for horizontal rules, to better organize longer posts

Do you mean like a horizontal line/separator?

Yeah, that's what it's called as far as I can tell. If phpbb still has that feature where you can define tags and write the html they turn into, it
should be easy to add one that turns into <hr>?

Should there be a separate sub-forum for friend codes and usernames for platforms, consoles, games, and websites? It feels like aside from a few specific threads like the Letterboxd one, they're sort of dropped all over the place at random which might make finding them for people interested in them a confusing little adventure.
But also I have no idea where you'd make a similar mega-thread to the Letterboxd one for sites like Backloggery since even though the focus of said site is gaming it's got nothing to do with either a specific Console or a specific Game so it doesn't really fit the rules of either sub-forum, in my opinion?
The user profile already feels a little crowded so I'm not sure if I'd suggest adding even more fields to it for gaming account stuff, but I suppose that too could be a thing.

Any way to hide the "Contact" field on the sidebar from logged-out visitors? Would be nice to have those links hidden from search engines and the like. Or perhaps just giving users the option to show/hide that sidebar field to everyone while still having links on their profile would be nice too.

would it somehow be possible to get a notification setting like "digest mail" that summarizes updated topics of the day instead of getting a mail for every post in a subscribed thread?
We looked into these things and sadly, after trying the proposed solutions for phpBB, we had a bunch of errors, so we'll have to shelve the ideas. Sorry

I have no idea of the difficulty of implementing this proposal, given that I only have experience with static HTML 1.0 pages and sites --
but, in the same way that YouTube videos can be embedded within posts, would it be possible to also embed videos from PeerTube instances on the Fediverse?
Here seems to be some documentation on the PeerTube Embed API.
But yeah, when I start a thread in the Arts & Crafts section about
some chiptune music I've made, I'd love to be able to embed the vids within the thread, same as YouTube folx can do.
That, and it's a way to promote alternative video platforms that aren't owned by Google, too!
One heads up about PeerTube instances, though: to help an instance reduce bandwidth costs, upload bandwidth may be shared across current viewers of a video, which may reveal the IP addresses of other concurrent watchers. I guess from there, it'd be a question of if you have more trust in an instance plus other current watchers, or Google.

Considering that this would be like 3 layers of working with interfaces I have very little experience with, I'm going to probably say that this would be way beyond my ability to implement. If there was a phpBB extension that didn't cause issues I would look into it, but I have a feeling that your scenario would need to be built from scratch and I do not have the spoons/time to take on that kind of task unfortunately

[EXTREME NITPICKING] I’m using the 1982 theme and I’m a bit confused by the read/unread icons. The "read" icon is a closed letter and the "unread" icon is an open letter. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Like, doesn’t it make sense that open letters are ones you’ve already read, while closed ones are ones you haven’t read yet?

This was brought up earlier in the thread but I'll quote my response then.
Me, back a page wrote:Our thought process on it was basically "Letter in the envelope indicates that there is something to read inside and the closed envelope is something you are done with in that you've read what was inside." Maybe not exactly how one would keep mail, but the letter in the envelope is more eye-catching as something new that you should look at versus the closed envelope.
We could swap them around, but I don't know if other people are also having this problem.

So I’m not going to insist or anything because again ultimately it’s not a big deal, nor is it a deal breaker at all! But I still do think it feels counter-intuitive to me and it also goes against with the way letter icons have pretty much always been used skeumorphically in all software I’ve ever seen before.
Though I gotta say, if they were custom made, they do look pretty nice.
