VRChat is replete with different spaces to explore, but us aquatic creatures don't have as many options as our land-dwelling counterparts, believe it or not! If there's water in a world, I generally want to be in it.
Too often I join a world where the immersive aspects of being submerged are lost or not considered; I'll fall through a sea as though it were air, no noise is produced from the displacement of water, and the surface of water vanishes to the sky above as I look up from below. Some map designers outright prohibit entry to a nearby body of water, regrettably using it as the map boundary.
Designing water in a virtual space is no easy feat, but some maps really raise the bar. In this thread, we'll share worlds with navigable, wet waters suitable for habitation, or those that come close to ticking all the boxes.
Astral Bounds
Pretty wet... after you discover where the water is. Swimming through open volumes of water and through submerged tunnels. Everything is just a little bleary under the water, but I like it that way.
South Island ~ Gran Lagoon
Sufficiently wet. Not a lot of room to swim around on this island, with netting separating you from the open ocean. Well-populated with underwater life in the areas that feature it, though!
ABYSSAL
Wet, but your diving weights are on. A murky abyss to peek around. Atmospheric, open, and pretty comfortable for creatures what dwell in places the sunlight doesn't touch. You can kick off the ground with a good leap, as I remember it, but no swimming.
