Hello! It's been a hot minute since I wrote one of these. I looked at my "about me" page on my blog for inspiration and... it turns out I started it off with "It's been a hot minute since I actually wrote an 'about me'."

Says a lot, really.

I've been posting too much and lurking too little on forums, IRC, social media since 2002 or so. I'm from (and still live in) rural Texas, so at least I can say I've had a good reason to do so. (It's not always that bad out here, but it's not easy to find people whose interests overlap).

These days I'm trying to post less and focus more on personal goals. Just stuff I want to do -- write, illustrate, focus on therapy, get back to music, read more about geography, work on game ideas, get better at fighting games -- that sort of thing. So, yeah, trying to allocate more time to that and less time to clicking on Discord channels. Lol.

But I saw this go up and, seeing (and sympathizing with) the recent sentiment that we can/should "go back to forums", I wanted to at least check in here. I think how a site/service is structured structures how people communicate on it in turn, and if I'm going to be online, I'd like to spend more of that time in a space that can maybe better facilitate long-form discussions.

So it's super cool to see this space pop off!

Anyway, I've been a furry for about as long as I've been on the Internet. I cycle between fursonas sorta frequently, but usually I'm a unicorn or a piñata or an oni (which isn't really a fursona to me, more something else, but that's neither here nor there). I only recently went to my first convention, which, damn, I shoulda been making more of an effort to go long ago, but I do just wanna hang out in more furry-dedicated/furry-adjacent spaces anyway.
